Meltdowns

If your child has frequent meltdowns, especially if they are unpredictable and frequent, the whole family will be affected. In severe cases they limit where the family can go and what they can do. In school, they are difficult to manage.

We find that working on the underlying problems initially helps meltdowns reduce in frequency and severity and for behaviour to be less on a knife edge. Most resolve.

Why do they happen? Communication issues and underlying anxiety levels are the most common triggers. There is one infant reflex that produces cortisol, the stress hormone. It can keep your child in a heightened state of alert that can easily trigger a reaction. This can be a meltdown or aggressive/hostile response.

The Brainchild Developmental Program is designed to help reduce or remove these effects.
